Sentro 22-Needle Knitting Machine User Manual: Setup, Tube and Plain Knitting, and PDF Download

Sentro 22-needle knitting machine with user manual

Lost your manual for the Sentro 22-needle mini machine, or bought one second-hand? This guide walks through the 1-page illustrated instruction sheet in plain order: how to practise and set up, how to thread it, how to knit a tube, how to knit a plain panel, how to change yarn, and how to take your work off and finish the ends. The PDF currently provided for this model is linked at the top and bottom of this article.

Important limitation, stated plainly: this PDF is a 1-page, 12-panel sheet whose printed branding inside is RABBIT, not SENTRO, and whose text does not clearly print 841, 841-1 or 22 needles. The numbers 841-1 and 22 appear only in the file name and URL, and in the product cover/box image, which shows NO.841-1 and a 22 Needle User Manual booklet. Jones has authorised temporary use of this file, with an optimised replacement to be provided later. This article therefore describes the sheet’s steps as the currently provided sheet’s steps, not as a verified official SENTRO manual text, and it must not be presented as a fully verified official manual until that replacement arrives. Do not remove this limitation before the replacement is supplied or verified.

Note on the model number: 841-1 is the filed model for this 22-needle machine, from the file name, the product cover/box image and Jones’s model mapping. It is not printed clearly inside the sheet itself, so this article states 841-1 as the filed model, not as a number printed in the sheet.

Switch directionUp for plain, down for loop/tube, on this sheet’s parts diagramInstruction sheet, parts diagram

Do not copy the switch direction from another model. Each model’s direction must be checked on its own sheet. For this 22-needle sheet, the parts diagram shows the upper row as plain and the lower row as loop, which is the same pattern as the 32- and 48-needle sheets, and different from the unresolved 40-needle conflict.

How to tell this is your machine

Look for a small, mushroom-style mini machine with a white body, pink top and crank, and a narrow cylinder for socks, baby shoes and small accessories. If your machine has a counter box on the front, it is not this 22-needle version as sold in the store listing. If your machine is wider, with 32, 40 or 48 hooks, use that model’s guide instead.

Setup and practice

  1. Put the machine on a flat, stable table.
  2. Set the switch to loop/tube knitting.
  3. Turn the handle clockwise with no yarn for a while first, to get used to the movement, before you start threading.
  4. Keep the yarn loose throughout: the sheet repeats this point at every stage.

Threading and the first rows

  1. Set the switch to tube/loop knitting.
  2. Lower the thread into the cylinder.
  3. Turn the handle forward so the centre needle catches the thread, with the thread passing on the right side of the yarn inlet.
  4. Work alternate needles, one at a time, following the sheet’s diagrams, until you have gone all the way around the cylinder. The last needle is threaded as shown in the sheet.
  5. Pass the yarn through the yarn holder as shown in the sheet, and keep it loose.
  6. For the first few rounds, crank slowly. Do not skip a needle in the foundation rows.

For a fuller general walkthrough, see Learn to Use Your SENTRO Knitting Machine: A Beginner’s Guide. That guide is based on the 48-needle machine, so follow its method, not its needle count, when you apply it to the 22.

Tube (loop) knitting

  1. With the switch on loop/tube, keep cranking clockwise at a steady pace.
  2. Before you start, put the starting tail inside the cylinder, as the sheet instructs.
  3. Release the yarn in front of the yarn inlet as you go, so it does not tighten up.
  4. The tube is narrow, about 9 cm across in the product archive, and its length is up to you. This size is why the 22 is used for socks, baby shoes and small accessories, not adult hats.

Plain (panel) knitting

  1. Set the switch to plain knitting.
  2. Turn the handle counterclockwise to its limit.
  3. Thread the machine in the same way as for tube knitting, following the tube threading steps above.
  4. Knit by alternating directions: crank one way to the limit, then reverse and crank back, repeating to the end of the panel.
  5. Before you remove a finished panel, set the switch back to loop/tube, then follow the removal steps below. The finishing method is the same as for a tube, with panel-specific thread-end steps in the sheet.

Changing yarn

When the yarn runs out, or you want another colour, tie a knot as shown in the sheet, trim the surplus ends close to the knot, join the new yarn as shown, and keep cranking. Start slowly after a join so the knot passes cleanly.

Removing your work and finishing the ends

  1. Take the yarn out of the yarn inlet and cut it about 30 cm from the fabric.
  2. Hold the cut end upright and turn the handle as shown in the sheet’s separation diagram, so the fabric gradually comes off the needles. Take it out carefully from below the main body, and make sure the stitches do not unravel.
  3. To finish an end, work a little more than you need, then undo the surplus part so the edge is neat, as the sheet instructs for both loop and plain work.
  4. For a finishing end, thread the tail through the edge stitches as shown in the sheet, without missing the last stitch, sew a few more stitches into the fabric and trim the surplus.
  5. For a starting end, pull the starting tail as shown in the sheet, sew a few more stitches into the fabric and trim the surplus.
  6. The sheet gives two finishing routes, ending on the machine and ending off the machine, shown as diagrams. This article does not invent a third route.

What the sheet does not cover

The sheet is a single illustrated page, not a full handbook. It has no box-contents list, no yarn-weight specification, no troubleshooting table, and no dedicated dropped-stitch chapter. Its only caution stated in the sheet is a general household-use note: the product is for household knitting, for small items such as gloves and hats, and its methods are for this product and may differ from industrial knitting methods. Do not add an age limit, a safety warning list, or a troubleshooting table and present it as sheet content.

For problems in practice, use the site’s own guides instead, and label them as such:

Box contents — not in the sheet

The sheet itself has no box list. Do not publish a box list for the 22-needle machine in this article until it is checked against the live 22 product page. The product archive notes a pom-pom making disk as part of the 22 positioning, but that is archive positioning, not a sheet box list, and it is not presented here as a verified box list.

FAQ

Where can I download the Sentro 22-needle manual?

Use the download button above, which links to the PDF already in the site media library. Note the limitation at the top of this article: that file is currently provided on a temporary basis, its printed branding inside is RABBIT, and a replacement is to be provided later. The User Manual hub page does not currently show a 22-needle card.

Does the 22-needle machine have a row counter?

No, for the store’s 22-needle machine, confirmed by Jones 2026-10-27. Count rows by hand or with a separate counter if you need an exact count.

What yarn should I use on the 22-needle machine?

The sheet itself gives no yarn weight. The product archive range is 1–3 mm. Start with a smooth thin-to-medium yarn, test a swatch, keep the yarn loose, and use the tight, moderate or loose tension slot that runs cleanest.

Why does my panel drop stitches at the ends?

On panel knitting, alternate directions fully to each limit, and keep the yarn loose. If edge stitches drop, check the tension slot first, then check that you are reversing fully at each end, rather than turning short.

Is the 22-needle manual the same as the 40-needle manual?

No. The 22-needle sheet is a separate 1-page, 12-panel sheet for a mini machine, with its own threading and thread-end diagrams. In particular, its switch pattern (up for plain, down for loop) must not be copied from the unresolved 40-needle conflict, and its tube size and yarn range are much smaller.
